I am a community leader and advocate committed to strengthening the social fabric of Burnaby through grassroots leadership, dialogue, and civic engagement.
I didn’t start in politics. I started in the community.
I am a community organizer, grassroots leader, and advocate committed to strengthening the social fabric of Burnaby through community engagement and inclusive leadership.
I moved to Burnaby in 2020. Today my daughter and I proudly call Burnaby home. We live in the Edmonds neighbourhood, one of the most diverse communities in British Columbia, where I feel a strong sense of belonging and connection to the people who make this city such a vibrant place to live.
I am the President of Alegria Soy Cultural & Community Society, a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing social justice, cultural inclusion, and community well-being through arts, culture, dialogue, and community engagement. Through this work, I have organized community dialogues, cultural events, youth initiatives, and programs that bring residents together to share ideas, develop solutions, and engage decision-makers.
In 2025, I helped bring the Car Free Day to Edmonds, welcoming more than 2,000 residents to celebrate culture, sustainability, and neighbourhood connection.
I am seeking a nomination with the Burnaby Citizens Association because I believe in progressive leadership and in ensuring that community voices are part of decision-making in our city.
As a single mother, renter, person living with a disability, and a professional bookkeeper, I see firsthand the challenges many residents face. Through my work with grassroots organizations and community networks, I have built relationships that can help engage residents who have traditionally felt disconnected from municipal politics.
My priorities include housing that people can afford, climate action, and safe and inclusive communities.
I believe Burnaby works best when the community is at the decision making table.
